Maleah's Story One June afternoon Miss Alli's Rescue received an email regarding a Great Pyrenees in dire need. Someone left her at a County Shelter in AL after hours, vs. taking her while the shelter was open, and the staff found her the next morning upon their arrival to work. She was in horrendous shape, so they took her to a vet right away and began treatment for her sarcoptic mange. Upon receipt of the email, there was no doubt...Miss Alli said "I'll take her." On June 29, 2007, she drove to Alabama and met a volunteer who offered to help transport Maleah. Poor Maleah was a year to two years old and only 48lbs...completely emaciated. She was feverish, so she was rushed to the veterinarian. She also had a secondary skin infection, kennel cough, yeast on her skin, ear infections, intestinal parasites, and her paws were raw and inflamed, making it painful to walk.

Maleah even made a point of cruising around the hospital, curious as to what all was going on and what there was to sniff. She was actually happy to be there and enjoyed herself!
After her trip to the doctor, Maleah came home to rest and simply relax. She ate well, curled up with her favorite bunny, and slept soundly. Miss Maleah no longer had any worries...she was safe and already loved very, very much.
